On the obverse, words that time has rendered inseparable from the voices of Rocío Jurado and Raphael converse with an image from the Roman de la Rose, one of the most influential illustrated manuscripts of medieval literature, in a miniature attributed to Jeanne de Montbaston, a 14th-century French illuminator.

The scene depicts Old Age offering a crown of fresh flowers to Bel-Accueil. Originally part of a poem that today also invites critical reading due to some of its passages containing what we now consider misogynistic undertones, the image remains a testament to an era, a way of thinking, its imaginary, and the artistic richness of its illuminated manuscripts.
